I started out in the public education field with experience in Title I schools. I grew disillusioned with the myriad of issues inherent in the education system and took a break to regroup. I have experience with a wide variety of gig work, and eventually found my way to the Higher Education field where I solidified my desire to work with adolescents and emerging adults individually. I like to be a partner in the journey to self-understanding and acceptance; providing a supportive environment without judgment where clients can recognize their dreams, make an actionable plan, and take steps to aid in the plan becoming part of your reality. As a second career professional, I have a unique perspective on the stressors students face as an inherent part of the education system. I also recognize how the COVID-19 pandemic has caused an impact which has brought issues to light that perhaps were previously manageable.
